Before...and Happily Ever After: Four Finished Spaces Complete!

It's been one installation after another at the Bungalow and I'm so excited to be posting the finished spaces I've been working on for Elisabeth!
The master bath is now complete!
(Beach Bungalow Designs)
I always love posting some great before & after shots, check out the master bath before:

It was a little dark and had none of Elisabeth's glamour- so we decided to go with a gorgeous statement wallpaper, lighter finishes and custom moldings and mirrors.

I absolutely love the gathered balloon shades I did for the curved windows, they completely change the feel of the space!

Switching up the chandeliers and sconces was a must- I choose these beauties for their ability to blend well with the rest of the house and for their extra sparkle!

Some sweet frames and stately artwork help finish off the master bath.

So much lighter and brighter! A few extras like changing the hardware, fixtures and painting the ceiling helped make this master feel even more luxurious.

Next up, re-designing the hallway to the playroom and incorporating an awesome gallery wall by Rebecca Jelsing:

 Beautiful frames and images!

Finding just the right runner was a challenge, but I think the subtle colors and print perfectly complement Rebecca's gallery...which leads us right on into the playroom!

Before Elisabeth called me, this area was an unused space just off the main entry, and was a little dark for a family room.
Now it's a cozy spot for the whole family to enjoy!
Removing the shutters and installing custom draperies was essential-and I love the prints we chose!
(Beach Bungalow Designs Custom Pillows & Draperies)
Custom pillows help make this leather sofa a little more comfortable, and a play table with oversized chalkboard is a great spot for drawing and projects!

So many great details in this room, the rustic, spherical chandelier is a favorite, and so is this custom growth chart from Etsy.

The chicken wire framing casts an awesome shadow.

(Beach Bungalow Designs)
I chose a pale green seagrass wallpaper for the walls, a lighter white for the ceiling and a soft, off-white rug to anchor the space. The room feels much brighter and warmer, perfect for Elisabeth and her family!
Last space I have to show you is a nook just off the kitchen and formal dining area:

I loved putting this design moment together- so many great details!

This mirror was such a find- it's a stand out and really brings the whole room together.

And here's the look all put together!

There you have it- four spaces down, and many more to go! Could one of them be in your home? I'd love to help you get started, call the Bungalow and find out!

Garage Makeover Complete! A Science & Art Room With Major Wow Factor

Several weeks ago I posted about making over a client's garage space into a Science and Art classroom and playroom for her granddaughters.

I am pleased to announce that the project was a success! Janelle and her family couldn't be happier with their bright, colorful Science and Art room!

The cabinet turned out beautifully! There is plenty of counter space for projects, and easy to reach storage for the girls.
(Beach Bungalow Designs)
I absolutely love the shade of yellow we chose for the paneling. We also made sure to install sleek and simple handles with no sharp edges, that would also be easy for the girls to use.
Check out all the neat accessories Janelle purchased for activities!
Another special design feature on this cabinet is the open shelving on the left hand side. Here we were able to display more books, tools and toys for the girls to enjoy.

This Land of Nod play table was the perfect addition to the space. I love the modern design as well as the rich colors of the teak table top and chairs. They provide a comfy and cute place for the girls to draw or practice their science experiments!

To soften the floor beneath the table, I chose a fun and eye-catching orange chevron rug from Rug Market. We also painted the cement garage floor a bright white to make the space feel less like a garage and more like a part of the house.
(Beach Bungalow Designs)
One challenge of this space was making it feel enclosed and safe without needing to keep the garage door closed. Janelle found some awesome folding screens that she liked and we placed a new KidKraft easel and several of Janelle's own items to block to door.
Shelly the skeleton is also there to keep an eye on things:)

To add pops of orange and red I found these great floral wall decals online. We affixed them to the white space beneath the cabinets and on the garage columns to help incorporate them into the design.

(Beach Bungalow Designs)
One of my favorite parts of this room is the butterfly art cable system where the girls can display their beautiful art work.

A simple and sweet bookshelf puts the finishing touch on the room, and provides even more space to store things like paint and puzzles.
I love thinking about all the fun that Janelle and her granddaughters will have in this special, creative place. I can't believe it used be just a regular garage before!

Multi-purposing this space was a fun project with a wow factor result. Is there a place in your home that you'd love to turn into a playroom or any other livable space? Come on over the Bungalow, we can show you just how to do it!

A Tried & True Nautical Theme Get's a Modern Twist

When it comes to designing a nautical themed room, it can be easy to go a little overboard...Get it?
Just a little joke to start off our latest post but also a true statement!
For this little boy's nursery I made sure my client had plenty of ocean themed accessories and items in the room, but also gave it a fun twist with unexpected prints and pops of oranges and reds!
Natuical 1

New Arrivals has recently come out with some amazing and bright chevron, polka dot and large stripe prints that couldn't be more perfect for this project.

Next up:  finding classic, clean-lined furniture that echoed my client's style.
Newport Cottages' Panel crib was obvious choice number one, especially because it can be stained to the perfect shade of brown my client desires. Check out the great color on the one here at the Beach Bungalow store:
(Newport Cottages with Beach Bungalow Designs)

The dresser was another quick pick, Newport's double dresser has tons of storage and can be stained to match the crib.

For a home run in keeping with our theme and adding another eye-catching storage element into the room, the rowboat bookcase!
(Newport Cottages)
Here's another shot of the bookcase from Chase's Room installation a few month's back; one of my favorite thing's about this bookcase is that even though it's an unusual shape, you still have plenty of space for books and toy storage.
(Beach Bungalow Designs)
For the rug I wanted something soft and fun with a pop of bright color. This one was absolutely on target!
(The Rug Market)

As far as artwork was concerned, there were plenty of different pieces to choose from. We finally narrowed it down to these selections all from Oopsy Daisy Artwork:

Loving all the different background patterns and shades of orange, red and blue!

I can't wait to see the final result of this modern nautical nursery! It's always an adventure deciding which direction the design of the room will take. Is there a new design scheme or look you've always wanted to try? Come on down to the Bungalow and let's test it out!
